Beirut Green Project, a local NGO that advocates for a green Lebanon, took the initiative to create a guide that pinpoints all the green public spaces and parks in Beirut. As part of our CSR work, we were excited to collaborate with them to create a platform that acts as a directory to all parks in Beirut including many hidden spaces in the city that only locals know of. It was up to us to, quite literally, put those parks back on the map!
We began by creating a corporate identity for the project and app so that it accumulates equity and becomes easily recognizable and referable. We knew that although many would love the idea of spending time in nature, few were aware of the activities and spaces available for such a lifestyle in Beirut. Therefore our strategy needed to go beyond app development and had to engage people and involve them to be part of a community. We developed a responsive website that allows users to find the park locations on an interactive map as well as upload their discovered green spaces and share them with the community. The user can, also, modify online features and accessibility according to their preferences.
We finally organized the launch event in Tawleh, a concept that connects people to nature through food and produce whose audience is our target and invited Media and influencers that we knew would support the initiative.
At the end, one website became a database for more than 200 discovered parks in Beirut! It encouraged people to pursue their passion of uncovering new places and sharing their hidden natural gems in the city with other like-minded people. Today, the website is not only a guide for green spaces around Beirut, it is an initiative that helped improve the lifestyles of city people and nature enthusiast alike.
